Which software/app do you use for the videocalls?

I use Teams, which is free of charge.

I can’t afford your services, but I need help, what can I do?

Even though I try to keep my fees as low as possible, I understand that they still suppose a significant effort for most families. If you need help with your child’s behaviour or sleep but can’t afford to work with me at the moment, you can reach out to your child’s school and/or your local authority for support. If they can’t help you directly, they may be able to signpost you to local organisations that may be able to help you either free or for a small fee. Also remember there are many helpful books and free/low cost courses you can do to learn more about your child’s difficulties, and don’t forget to check out my Youtube channel where I post videos with helpful advice which you can put into practise without my help.

How long will I be working with you?

It can vary a lot depending on your case. The initial assessment, design of the intervention plan and the meeting to discuss the plan and to make any changes if needed, takes about 6 weeks depending on how long the parents/carers take to return the forms and complete the assessment tasks. After this, you can add follow-up videocalls as you implement the intervention. These follow-up videocalls are highly recommended as it’s very common to experience difficulties when implementing the intervention for the first few weeks. Also, because behaviour is not an exact science and it involves a lot of trial and error, we often need to change the intervention as we go.

What if we struggle in between appointments? Can I contact you before the next one?

Videocalls will typically be weekly; however, things can go south pretty quickly, and you may feel lost, or you may feel unsure about an assessment task or how to implement an intervention. This is why I offer e-mail support in between appointments. Please only use this service for anything that cannot wait. If you send me an e-mail, but I think that discussing the issue can wait until the next appointment, I will let you know.

How does the payment for your service work?

The preliminary assessment and the first 15 minute videocall are free of charge. After that, we will decide whether you want to work with me and whether I can help you. The assessment, plan and videocall to review it with you are the smallest service I offer to families, and this involves a single payment that needs to be effective at least 48h before the second videocall. After this, if you choose to continue working with me, you will pay for each appointment separately, also due at least 48h before the videocall. Please find my up to date fees here.

Can I pay in instalments?

There are two ways you can pay for my services in instalments. PayPal offers the service Pay in 4, which is an interest-free instalment product that lets you split your purchase into 4 payments, with the first payment due at the time of purchase and the 3 subsequent repayments will be made every 2 weeks thereafter. Another way you can pay in instalments is by using your credit card and arranging to pay a specific amount each month. Please contact your bank for details on how to do this.

I need you to write a letter, talk to the school or something else that’s not listed as part of your service.

I will try to do all I can to help your child and family with any issues regarding behaviour and sleep. If this involves other tasks like writing letters, reports or talking to other professionals, please let me know and I’ll try my best to help you with it; however, please be aware that as it’s not part of my standard service, it’s likely to involve a separate fee.

My child is not diagnosed, can you help us?

I’m aware that the waiting list for diagnosis is ridiculously long, which means that it can take years for children and adults to receive the support they need. I find this unacceptable. For this reason and because people are much more than a diagnosis, I don’t require your child to have a formal diagnosis to work with you.

I’d like to stop working with you, what do I do?

There may be many reasons why you have decided to stop working with me, and I understand that you may or may not prefer to share them with me. Just drop me an e-mail, no questions asked! Please be aware that cancellations with less than 24h of notice will incur a 30% charge of the fee you paid (in other words, you’ll receive a 70% refund).

How do I start working with you?

Once you check that you meet the requirements, you can submit the contact form to get started.
